Life can be really difficult to understand. Bad things can happen to good people and if we feel completely lost and alone, we’re easily discouraged. God wants us to share in each others pain and struggles as fellow believers in Christ, He encourages us to share each others burdens and to do so by lifting those needs up to His Father in Heaven for help…

As kids you may feel like there’s nothing much you can do to help change things… but the bible says differently.

Prayer is not a preparaton for the battle.. Prayer IS the battle !

    Please Pray for the iShine crew this week as they are recovering from food poisoning… most of the iShine artists were very sick this week with flu symptoms after getting a moderate to severe case of food poisoning after their trip to Tulsa OK last weekend. They are weak and dehydrated, but doing better as of wednesday Oct 19th, still need to improve for the last weekend of the tour! Pray for their full recovery, safety and health as we finish strong our fall tour this year! Thanks and PEACE OUT !

    Man! I just don`t really understand this whole problem in my life but, this helped a little. I just can`t understand it sometimes!!! It`s extremely confusing sometimes and I just don`t think that I can handle it anymore. I hate this pain that I feel. I feel like I`m carrying an enormous weight on my shoulders. I feel like I`m falling and there is no one there to catch me! I`ve been dealing with this for almost two years and I`m sooo sick of it!!!!! Please, if there is anyone out there listening that cares, Pleeease PRAY for me!!!

      I know how you feel, at the age of 10, 11 I felt the same way. But you know, it made me stronger. God has not forgotten you, never has and never will. He’s Jehovah Shammah, He listening to you, He El Roi, He sees you now, He is here, He is your companion, He’s Jehovah Shammah, don’t hold it all inside give it all to Christ! You think no one listens to you, well Im telling you there is One, You think no one feels your feels pain, well He felt it all! You think no one cares for you, Well, Im telling you there is One, and He’s Jesus Christ!!!! 
      Don’t give up, keep holding on and trusting in Jesus Christ, He has not forgotten you, never has and never will.

      I know how you feel I just turned 14 and for the past 2 years someone has been mean to me and then recently I felt like I am not important and I cant do anything right and that I am not important to anyone. I found a verse in the Bible and it tells us that we are Peculiar Treasures that helped me alot just remember God is always there. He goes through whatever we go through.

    Boy that is a hard one Glo Asihene! This morning I heard someone speak about that in the Bible from Luke 6.       I am so sorry Musicfan that you are having a really hard time! There are a lot of voices out there callling to us but they are not all truth. When I have those times I take some time to be alone with God and read some of my favorite scriptures – like Psalm 119 – because God’s word is truth and we can trust Him! I am praying for you and remember that Jesus never leaves you and He does not abandon you, no matter what you feel like! iShineMimi

    I cant get over the fact that Caramel, my chicken died. Any time I was upset about something, I would look into my backyard and see Caramel.She made me smile and was the Sunshine of my World. I could not sleep at all last night.I DID sleep alittle.Mabey 2 hours. I cant stand it any more!!!!!!!! Caramel was here for atleast 24 weeks and DIED!!!!:( PLEASE,PLEASE PRAY FOR ME!!!       Ireane, growing up can be VERY hard. As you get older and your opinions stronger it’s not uncommon for your feelings to conflict with your parents. Hang in there, it won’t be like this forever and God has a lot to share with you in the process. He often uses parents to teach us about Himself. Sounds to me like your parents care for you a great deal and are simply trying to protect you. It may be super aggravating, but in the end you might find you agree? Peace to you today.

      Our way is not the best. Having a twitter, facebook, or blog may be fun and “look” safe, but in reality, sometimes there are people out there to harm us, and sometimes bad things can pop up and expose us to some nasty stuff. Best thing for us to do is to trust and obey our parents for they have know best.  Pro 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.God knows best and desires all of you. He wants your heart, your mind, your life, your all. This does not mean you can’t have a facebook or have somethings that everyone else has, but there are somethings that God can not allow. Like drinking, drugs, stealing, lying, etc… God gave us rules to live by through The Ten Commandments and His Word, The Bible. Rules not to hinder us or keep us from fun, but to keep us safe and strengthen us and get us closer to Him. What fun is there in being so drunk you can’t think straight, or so high you do dumb harmful things. God says…

      Jhn 16:24″Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.1Pe 1:8whom having not seen [fn] you love. Though now you do not see [Him], yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,God’s joy is like NOTHING like this world can give. I would be down 
      sometimes and turn to T.V. or games,instead of God. Every time I 
      was not satisfied. The ONLY THING that DID,was GOD, JESUS CHRIST!!!

      God also commands us to be different, not EVERY new thing is good. 
      One thing I suggest to you is test whether it is good or not.Phl 4:8¶Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
      Imagine if EVERYONE ON THE PLANET was like you, IN EVERY WAY! Would be boring. God made us unique creations, different from anything else He has made. Sin, or the wrong things we have done, destroys that, for

      Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
      So, sin conforms us into this mold. By trusting in God, reading His word, and living like Him, God breaks that mold in our lives so we are not trapped in this mold of sin. 

      Please let God show you His pure love, lasting peace, and TRUE JOY!!!!

    It’s halloween today and all of my life I couldnt go trick or treating. my mom says im not allowed to and all day at schoo, people always ask me…. watcha gonna be for halloween? and i always just say i dont know yet. but i do know and thats nothing im not allowed to celebrate halloween and my friend wants me to go trick or treating with her but i cant. i really want to though….

      Asihene, God wants us to “honor” and “respect” our parents. Regardless of your feelings on Halloween, the bigger picture is learning to trust your parents direction for you. When you are an adult, you will get to decide for yourself on the best way to handle this holiday. Many Christian parents are uncomfortable with celebrating Halloween due to its pagan roots. As a kid, my parents wouldn’t let me either. I survived. So will you. Hang in there and trust God!

      I felt the same way, My friends talked about what they were. I would try to explain why i didn’t celebrate it, but we would just argue. I say ever when we feel left, stay strong in your convictions! We know in our hearts that halloween is not right, so we should not celebrate it.

      Hey Glo Asihene :) Sorry this is such a late reply, but I understand how you feel. To tell you the truth, I hate Halloween. In my family we dont celebrate and think about dark things and halloween, we just celebrate that its fall and that God has once again made the colors of the trees change and the leaves fall. Just as the trees wither and die to become alive and beautiful again in the spring, it reminds us of how Jesus died for us and rose from the grave. So even as you cant go tricker-treating, remember to celebrate that God has brought us a beautiful fall season this year. Your mom is only trying to keep you from all the evil in this world. I mean if Jesus wouldn’t celebrate Halloween why should we?

Respecting your parents while being a faithful friend is a fine line, be careful to consider what your family are saying, and consider if God wants you to gently suggest to your BFF that she might want to consider some different ways to behave in your home… ? We’ll trust that God will give you wisdom. AMEN

    Dancingshay96, Jesus wants you to trust Him enough to follow Him for your entire life. Being a Christian, means to “follow” Him. To be like Him. Something we can’t do in our own will power, it takes the transformation of our hearts to become “like” Him and it’s a process that only “Begins” with accepting Jesus as your “Lord” and “Savior”. That in essence can only be done with a sincere desire to surrender your own will for His, and a understanding and acceptance that you can never be “good” enough to earn your own way to Heaven. If you sincerely believe those things about God and yourself, you need to prayerful request for God to become your number one. Once you genuinely ask, you will recieve His gift of salvation. The swearing will not be a problem after that… :) You should seek out a youth worker, parent or older friend to share this news with. Its the MOST IMPORTANT decision you will ever make and it will change you life FOREVER. Literally. Bless you as you move forward on this first step in the journey of faith.     1. my grandpa is dying and he’s not a christian and i’m gonna REALLY miss him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a LOT!!!!!!!
    2. my other grandpa, well lets just say he’s not doing so good either,
    3. just pray for me, school and stress and all that stuff,
    4. just pray for me again because i usedta be bullied and verbally abused so that made my self-esteem low so pray that God will help me stop believing lies and stuff,
    5. just pray for me again sorry that God will help me, be, like, idk, like, radical for Him i guess. just not to care what the world thinks bout me i’m gonna radical for jesus i don’t care if the whole world thinks i’m crazay cuz God is awesome and if i don’t fit in that’s okay cuz those things r just temptorary but god is eternal so pray that god will help me
    6. pray that god will help me praise him EVEN in bad times!!! cuz satan’s just doing it to see if i will curse god but i’m not gonna i’m just gonna keep on praising but sometimes it’s hard so i need help so pray that god will help me,
    7, pray for these 2 boys who usedta beat me up because they have a lot of anger inside of them and i feel so sorry for them….

    9. pray for this one girl i saw at Kohls, she worked there…all she was doing was sweeping the carpet with one of those vacuum sweeper tihngys, but she said, “excuse me ma’am i need to get through here.” that’s ALL SHE SAID but i never forgot her!!! i could just see such a SADNESS in her eyes it almost broke my heart and she had such a low self-esteem too and she actually called me MA’AM and i’m only 12!!!!!!!!!!! nobody ever called me ma’am but anyways PLEASE pray for her that God will make her happy because God is ALWAYS happy even when He gets a lot of complaints and he has the whole world to take care of He still is joyful and He has a sense of humor and He’s awesome

    Please pray for my 15 year old daughter Lexi.  She was in a near drowning on May 16, 2010 (13 yrs old at the time) she was found dead on scene but after working on her 10minutes after arrival in ER they found a pulse.  God has brought her this far and we know He has a plan for her life.  We are about to take a trip to the Hyperbaric Chambers to help force oxygen to the dormant parts of her brain.  We are and have been believing for a miracle… please pray with me that God be with us on this leg of our journey that we get the miracle we have been praying for and that we touch many lives and plant seeds for HIS Harvest every where we go. I’m not sure how old “Auntie Ama” is, but if she is getting frustrated with you, it wouldn’t hurt to share this with another adult you trust in your life. A pastor, or teacher or friend. Maybe get their perspective on this. Praying for God to help resolve the problem would be where I would start and ask for help second. Third, your mom gets to come home sooner than you thought.     can someone please help me or give me advice? right now i really hate my mom, she yells at me for everything even if its over nothing. like for example, i said i was going to do my laundry and she started yelling at me. i get good grades and act as responsible as i can so its not like i’m a spoiled teenager that never studies. i know that in the bible it says to obey your parents and trust me i have been since day one. its just that i cant take my mom yelling at me 24/7. and the worst thing is that if someone yells at me i cry and i cant help it. my mom yells at me even more if she sees me crying, so to not cry infront of her i scratch myself, hard. so i can focus on the pain more then my emotions and urge to cry. i just want help before i cut myself really bad. please reply as soon as possible

God knew we would have times of doubt and so He wants us to know it does not depend on our feelings but how faithful He is! God cannot lie and Jesus proved His love for us when He went to the cross for us – it is real and it is true – but our feelings go up and down and I do understand that.     Hi Ishine!

    I have been a fan of Ishine Knect since day 1 ( cant remember the year)- I was going through channel guide for the next day when I saw a brand new show with a sorta weird name J But, hey, I loved it! I am so excited to see how this ministry has grown- I feel like I have grown with it. Most importantly, ishine has helped me to grow in my faith and in my walk with the Lord. I used to be one of what the Bible calls “ lukewarm believers”. That is shaky ground to be on! Now He truly is my best friend. The friend that sticks closer than a brother. One of my lifetime friends, who doesn’t have the Bible believing parents I do, was going down the road of destruction, BIG TIME! Before I moved, I introduced her to Ishine, hoping it would do for her what it did for me. I went back there for a visit when she showed me her iPod. Where there used to be vulgar songs, there are now all IShine songs!! SO EXCITED!! Praise God! Also I have a little miracle story to share. I was having a skin condition on my face that I never had before. It frustrated me to no end. SO bad I had to miss church! I prayed and prayed for healing. Well, one morning, I turned on the 700 Club like I usually do @ 9 am. Then I had to do something so I turned it off. But something told me to go back and turn it on. So I did and it happened to be the part where Pat Robertson and Kristi pray and have words of knowledge. I just watched when all of a sudden Kristi said, “ There is someone out there, you have an itchy face condition that is uncomfortable, just know God is going to heal that!” I screamed and cried “ Thank you Lord” a gazillion times!! 2 days later now, my face is almost completely healed! This is a condition I have had for weeks! Just wanted to share the power of God with you. May God bless you and your wonderful ministry. I love it ( even if it is for the 8 to 13 year old crowd, which I am above)!

    Okay this is more for my friend than for me. You see I have this friend and a couple of years ago her dad was in the army and he went to Afghanistan and cheated on her mom and basically her whole family and now my friend has to spend time with him and she doesn’t want to spend time with him. I remember her telling me that she hated him and her new step mom and I can’t really imagine how that must feel for her but I told her she needs to forgive him. She told me that she wasn’t going to forgive him because she felt like if she did he would take advantage of the situation and think that what he did was okay and I know that the Bible says that God will forgive you when you forgive others and yourself and I know that this life is all about God and I know that you can’t have a relationship with God with that kind of mind set that doesn’t obey His word. So I guess what I am asking is that you pray for her and her family. She has three brothers and her mom is a single mom. Please pray that she just realizes that it is very important for her forgive him and I know that even when others pray for her that it all comes to her to decide to forgive him, but I know God answers prayers. So please pray for her and also please pray for me that I am able to get where she is coming from and bring her to Christ. Her name is Rachel and my name is Arielle.

    Please, please, please pray for me. I have a test in school tomorrow, and I’m really nervous about it. Almost all I’ve been doing all day is studying for it, but I’m still really worried. Because yesterday morning, my teacher gave us a long list of things to have memorized by tomorrow!! And I’m so nervous about it!
     I’m just making myself sick over this. I’ve had a lot of tests before, so I don’t know why I’m so nervous about this one. Please pray for me not to get too nervous and to do well!!!! Because I’m so nervous about it! :(

    I’d really like some prayer right now. So, when I was two I had this blood disease and it caused me have a lot of random bruises that I would get from doing nothing. If the doctors and my parents hadn’t realized this in time, I probably would’ve gotten leukemia. Now, thirteen years later at fifteen, I’m getting random bruises that I didn’t even know I got. I would really appreciate some prayer that it isn’t this disease coming back. Thanks so much.

      Unfortunately this is a very common issue in life. Caught between two we love or like and they are aggressively resistant to each other. I only can suggest that you share openly with each about your angst. Of the desire to be both of their friends and the need you have for them to both be respectful of your wishes. Encourage them to ask God how He would have them act…. don’t tell them what you think they should do. Seriously ask them to consider praying privately and ask God what they should do about their situation. Stand back and watch God help them forgive and forget. Blessings… and thanks for sharing. LOTS of kids have this struggle and so do your parents !

    Sierra, not sure if there is a huge symbolic meaning in your dream, but it could be as simple as God telling you at 15 years of age, your not ready to get married yet, but there will be a time later in your life. Whomever you end up marrying, the presence of the Church is a huge role in your relationship and the support of your pastor and friends in your decision is another great facet of your dream. Don’t assume that this is a definitive confirmation of you marrying this young man, but rather be content in knowing that when the time is right for you, your home church and pastor and parents will all be agreed on who and when and where :) Blessings from iShine

    Well, last june-ish was the first time i tried cutting myself, and then my bestest friend ever found out……. and did it too. but more than i did and worse and deeper and bloodier. then i felt guilty cuz if i nvr did it she nvr woulda done it. so then i stopped it was hard but it did and i tried to get her to stop and SHE DID i am so happy but PLEASE pray that she will stay true to her word and never do it again im scared for her so please pray. also she knows ive attemptd suicide like 3 times and she always copies me so pray that she wont!!! cuz if she does, i will.

    Dear Ishine, Sometimes I feel so alone. I am made fun of at school and then when I get home I am put down because between me and my other siblings I am the only one who is really trying to move farther in my relationship with Christ and they don’t like it because sometimes I exclude myself from them. What should I do? How do I know when God is speaking to me? How do I know when its not me in my head telling me that “I love you”. I feel so confused. Sometimes I feel like I am not Christian because every time a temptation comes up I find myself not enduring it. When you receive Christ are you going to hear hear him talk to you as if he was right there? 
    I don’t know if any of what I just said made sense but if you get any part of it at all can you help me? I just don’t know what to do? I feel like if I can’t have a relationship with God then whats the point of anything? I need some understanding. I have become disrespectful to my parents, found myself not acknowledging authority and I have spent countless amount of hours just trying to think of what to do with myself because when I pray I don’t hear anything back or if I do I can’t tell if it is God or me answering my questions and prayers. Pleeeaaaasssseeeee help me. I feel so lost.

      Hang in there… God does speak to us, but usually it is through others, in His word or by a great sense of Peace. Always respect others regardless of how they react to your faith. Especially parents! So, be careful to spend time in the word regularly and look for specific verses that might have special meaning for your situation or prayers. I use the dailyaudiobible.com site to listen or read along for free! We’ll be praying and so will a lot of others. Most of us all struggle with this issue from time to time…be sure and give God some space in your life to respond… Turn off the tv & phone & computer for 15-30 min a day and read & pray & listen! He will show up… I promise

          I’ve had experience with this kind of thing. It’s tough on people and it can happen to anyone. A lot of times the people who pick on others have a really tough life and bring it out on others. I had a problem with a guy and now my parents made it so I will never be in his class again!! I just told an adult and they helped me. :)

      Hi, Lindsey :) God is always there, so try praying. Also, tell your parent/parents. If no one is around, God is. He’s always gunna be there. Your parents will always help you and your teacher is supposed to. If your teacher doesn’t do anything, ask your parents to send in a note or call the school. But most importantly, PRAY.       Hang in there Lindsey, part of everyone’s life includes living with unhappy and unkind people. Most likely this mean girl is hurting very badly and needs a friend. Praying for her, will change everything. It will mean you can forgive and trust God to fix this, deep down in your heart and God will give you peace and wisdom on how to handle her behavior…but most significantly, God will give you patience and love for her despite the way she is treating you.       Try to ignore them Glo Asihene. They are just trying to get you to feel this way. Don’t let it get to you. They are just being mean. Do you even care about what other people think about you? Their thoughts are what they use against you, but they are all wrong. God made you how he wanted you, therefore you are a diamond. You are perfect you, and He doesn’t want that changed because people are being mean. Pray about it and He will do something, and remember, He doesn’t put you through anything He doesn’t think you can handle.

      Hi Nicole :) . Not sure where the verse is, but there is one. And yes, He counts all sins as equal. Sounds crazy, especially when you put it as stealing an M&M and someone else killing someone, but He counts them all as the same. iShine Brad or Mimi can probably tell you a verse or two as he is a preacher :D

      Nicole, sin is sin. That means that if we break one little rule or murder someone, in comparisson to “Perfection” ; they are both failing to meet the standard of perfection… sort of like, if you don’t get an A+ on an exam, you fail, even if you only missed one question. The bible does describe some sins differently than others, but in general the concept is simple…. we all sin. We have all sinned and not one of us can ever hope to get an A+ on our own in God’s eyes. So…. we have a helper, someone who did get an A+ and chose to give His perfect grade to us so we could pass our exams. (Jesus) – hope that helps.     Well, I know that it’s sometimes hard to pray for compete strangers… but I have a request. Please pray for my two cousins, Ashley and Ryley… they are going through a hard time right now. Their parents just got a divorce a couple weeks ago. :( I haven’t seen them since it happened, but everyone who has, says that they are having a pretty hard time with it. My dad stopped by to see my aunt last week and help her move out of the house, and Ryley didn’t come out of his room the whole time. And Ashley wasn’t there. 
    I’ve been praying for them ever since we heard about it, but I’d like some other people to pray, too. Please just pray for it to get easier for them to deal with… and for them to not be so sad anymore. It makes me want to cry to think of them crying. I’ve never seen either of them cry, not in all the time I’ve known them.:( 
    None of their family are Christians… so please pray for them all to accept Jesus, too. I’ve been praying for them to become Christians for years now, but it hasn’t worked yet. And now that this has happened, I think they need Jesus more then ever.  :( So please… just pray for them. I really hate to hear about them being sad and depressed. (Ashley is a 16 year old girl, and Ryley is a 13 year old boy, if that helps you envision who you’re praying for better. :p) Thank you so much. :) One more thing. I WILL see my two cousins again sooner or later… at family gatherings and stuff. When I do, what do I say to them? Do I try to act like nothing ever happened; or say “I’m sorry” or something; or just say nothing? I don’t know what I’ll say, because I’m afraid I’ll say or do something to make them feel worse. No one in my whole family has gotten a divorce before, so I’m not used to this kind of thing. :-/ What do I do or say when I run into them again?? :(

Divorce is really really difficult to get through, but i’m confident that many will pray for you because of your courage to share this need in your life on iShine. My encouragement is to speak openly about what they are going through, to simply tell them your sorry and concerned and want to help. Jesus will help you… I promise – He’ll give you the words to say !

Name calling in school like fat and ugly and not a good swimmer and you will never get a boyfriend went your older women and you sould not come to school  here. The bully yelles at me went i go to class. She goissip about me to other  girls.     Went all the girls are in a group she excluding me like everyday. She started hitting me and kicking me.     Update about bulling. My parents talked to the teachers about the Violence’s and the name calling and the goissiping. Good New a teacher is going to walk with me to my classes.     YES! He is a miracle maker. I have proof! My cousin was born and they didn’t think he would make it. He DID! He is 2 years old or 3 not sure which but he is living proof God is real!
    ALso, this lady at church was trying to have a baby, and had all these tests and everything done, and the doctor said there was nothing left to do, it was impossible. Guess what. My preacher did the oil thing and now she a a boy and is pregnant with her 2nd baby! My mom babysat the first one, Nicolas, so his mom could go to work, and we noticed he is HUMONGOUS! for his age!!

    I have been praying for God to bring Christian people in my life because I have been reading Psalm 101:6 and basically what it is saying is that We should not hang out with people who are not going to follow Christ, that we should dwell with other children of God. And I find it extremely challenging to face school with all this worldly stuff going on. I just think it would be so much easier to have another Christian person my age that I can talk to. Please pray that God will bring people in my life that will influence me to stay good. It’s hard out here sometimes………

      @37d2823fc54349840a539a591b8aa21d:disqus trust me, been there done that xD they won’t know you like them unless you tell them or make it obvious. just try to be friends with them :) who knows maybe one of them will like you back. i had this huge crush on a guy in my spanish class and i became friends with him and he never knew i liked him until i told him, turns out he liked me back. if you are best friends with the person you have an advantage, cause who would want to go out with a complete stanger. if i were you i would try talking to him, like see if you have anything in common with him. you said he was in your choir right? maybe go up to him and ask him how a song goes even if you already know it (he wont know that you know it) if he helps you out be like do you like singing? if he says yes then maybe you can say, me too! we should have a band or just practice together sometime!! i wish you luck and hope everything turns out ok :) what have you got to lose :)

      Well, first of all… I wouldn’t post their full names on here. They might possible find it. Lol. :)
      Been there, done that too…! Lol. Just make friends with them the way that you make friends with everyone else… how did you make friends with your best friend? Did you just walk up to her and talk to her? Then just walk up to them and talk to them. Start spending time with them. But remember, it’s kinda hard to be stuck between two boys… you can’t be a ‘girl-friend’ to them both. :-/

      Lol. Well, I’m really not the best one to give you advice about this… I had a sad/bad experience with a boy last year, and I’ve had a bad case of boy-phobia ever since. 
      I try to avoid boys as much as I can… maybe that’s a bad thing, but I’ve found that I end up with a lot less broken hearts that way!! Lol.

    hi, i kinda need you’re help to decide something. ok, so i have these big dreams and i want to do everything to complete them, but my mom doesnt believe i can and when i try to do something that will help me get a step closer to completeing them she ruins it and says i cant do it. for example i wanted to be a animal vet, a singer, a model (i know its stupid but yea…) and most recently an actress. when i said i wanted to be an animal vet mom said ha good luck with that you can’t even handle our 2 dogs. when i said i wanted to be a singer she said i should focus on more realistic things and she hates my band mate so she doesnt let me hang out with her. i tried to get noticed by signing up for disney or something but when i told my mom she just laughed.i still really want to be a singer but its really hard if my mom doesnt even let me talk to my band mate. when i said i wanted to be a model and asked if i can sign up for this modeling thing she said 13 year olds cant be models (my friend is 13 and shes a model) so concentrate on more realistic stuff. and last, today i said i wanted to be and actress and she gave me a look like i have 5 million heads. then i asked if i could find an acting camp and she didnt say any thing. when i found one she said its for more professional people then i told her its for people my age and they take beginners and she said no anyways. so i can’t decide whether i should listen to my mom or just ignore it and try to make my dreams come true. the only problem is if she doesnt want me to do it there is no way i can do it. (she doesnt want me to be an actress=she wont take me to acting camp=i wont get noticed=i will never be an actress) i have thought about running away and going to my closest friend’s/my band member’s house and fufilling my dreams. its just i don’t know whether to do it. for me it’s between choosing to listen to my mom and be an ordinary person who will never be notice, make history, or be remembered by anyone but my family or ditch my mom and make my dreams come true. i think you can tell which side i’m leaning to, but i just dont know and i don’t want to do something i will deeply regret. please help me!!

      Wow, Juliet. You sure have a big problem here. :-/ Let me see if I can help.

      Well first, I would try talking to your mom one more time. Ask her what kind of ‘realistic stuff’ she wants you to be. Then, tell her WHY you don’t want to do those things. 
      Then, tell her what you would really like to be someday, and why you DO want to be that. Make a list of the all good things that your dream career does. For example, singers encourage a lot of people. Actresses give people entertainment, which lets them get away from their worries for awhile. Vets help animals, and etc. Show her your list, explaining each point you have.

      If she still won’t listen, write her a letter. Seriously, sometimes writing tp someone is easier than talking to them. I feel like I can let my feelings out easier on paper that in words. (That’s why I keep a journal… Lol.) And no one can interrupt you when you have it all written down, they just read it. Tell her how you really, really feel. Your honest feelings! Leave it somewhere where she will find it, like under her pillow.

      You can also talk to someone else that you trust, such as a teacher, grandparent, or aunt. They may be able to help you. Seriously.

      And if neither of those things work, there is still more that you can do. One, SHOW your mom that you are responsible. For example, take better care of your dogs. Volunteer at an animal shelter. Feed stray animals. Prove to her that you have a heart for animals, and she will eventually see that you have what it takes to be a vet. 
      The same thing with everyone else. Write music, learn to play the piano and sing along with it. She will eventually see that you have true talent, and that it needs to be used. 
      Do not give up on this!! Keep at it. Persistence is the key. If you give up on asking her, practicing it, and dreaming about it, she will just be even more convinced that you don’t have what it takes. Don’t lose heart!!!!!!!!

      Lastly, the most important thing you can do. Pray! Pray, pray, pray, pray pray. Talk to God about your problems, ask Him to help you, tell him all your dreams and fears. He will never give up on you!! He will never leave you or forsake you! He LOVES you, and He wants you to love your dreams!
      Pray for your mom, too. it sounds like she needs prayer. I will pray for you and your mom. Seriously, you are now on my prayer list. Keep us posted about what happens. <3

      P.P.S. Do NOT run away! It is never the answer… trust me, it will only make things worse. You want your mom to see that you are responsible and mature enough to consider a career. Running away will only make her lose trust in you. :(

      You must be really dealing with some tough issues & finding it hard to let your feelings out? There are some great counselors out there who would be a huge help if you take the risk & share about the struggle!
      God has a much better way for you to express your emotions & frustrations… Have you been able to share of your struggle witha pastor or parent?
      It’s really important you confide in someone soon, so you don’t keep trying to figure it out on your own.

      Thank you, Brad… I hope our prayers help her and everyone else. He was one of her best friends. They walked down the hallway together, and had lockers right next to each other. It’s been pretty hard on her. :(

      It happened because he wasn’t wearing his seat belt. If he had been, he would probably be here right now. People think that a little thing like putting on a seat belt doesn’t matter… but it does. It can really truly save your life! PLEASE wear your seat belt when you’re in a car!!

                   Well, i have been getting teased at school lately by two girls and its been getting way out of hand. They have been talking bad about me behind my back and they have also been getting other people against me. They are very “popular” i guess you could say and its very difficult for me to stand up for myself. I try to ignore them and make it seem like i dont care but i do care. I dont want to tell on them because i will be called a snitch and other people will be very angry at me and no one will talk to me because almost everybody is their friend and they know and talk to everyone so i really need to know what to do to get stength and feel better about myself. My second concern is that im going to be getting my braces and they said they are going to have to take off 4 teeth and inject my mouth in order to do that. And im a little nervous and scared i really dont want to feel pain so please pray so i could have faith in god everythings going to be okay.

      I’m sorry for all your going through Katherine, sincerely sorry. Unfortunately it seems to be a common issue with growing up and maturing. Many kids feel so badly about themselves, the only way they know to cope is to make fun of or demean others as lower than themselves. The bible says something really odd about this… instead of standing up for yourself and fighting them head on, the scriptures suggest we should “love” them not just endure them. That’s impossible without the love of Christ within us. So, be encouraged… be faithful to your time with God and you will be amazed at the outcome, if you actually sincerely pray for these mean girls, things will change…for the better and God will be honored and you will be stronger and wiser than ever before. Blessings…

    Please pray for me… I have been feeling really bad this week. It’s allergies! I have a sore throat, watery eyes, stuffy nose, and a headache. I’ve been like this for that past 7 days! I NEVER get allergies, but they say that the allergies have been really bad this spring. 
    Please pray for it to rain soon, because they say that will wash away all of the pollen and allergens in the air. I am soooo tired if feeling sick all the time. This is getting old really fast!!

Remind yourself of ALL the good things in your life. Focus on the blessings and not the frustrations. Life is full of “up’s” and “downs”, but with Christ in your heart you can live regardless of your situation. Paul said, “i’ve learned in whatever state I am in to be content”, that’s a huge testimony to the God we serve in helping us regardless of our momentary difficulties. IF God wants you to be in iShine, if God has a plan for you to be in ministry, there will be other opportunities and other chances to do so. I PROMISE :)

      I have a cruch named Ethan he never pays any attention to me and when I say hi to him.. he does the same,
      so I just take a breath and then say “ God’s got someone better for me. ” 
      when my friends ditch me I say ” I’m a better person then that. ”
      and then go talk to the one who’s always there for me!
      and when my family has a xxxxx large fight I read Matthew 5:9 and then try my best to be that!
      and when my parents fight I go outside pray for a little while then if they’re still fighting I scream as loud as I can and then when they come outside and ask me why I screamed,
      and then say ” if you even care, your hurting me! I love you both and I want you to be my parents in peace together!! ”
      and then walk of to cool off.
      and I can’t go to the auditions I tell myself that “I don’t have to go there to be wanted or to be a witness.”
      and when I mess up something I say ” well at least I didn’t mess up something bigger, ”
      and then say,” if I hurry I can fix before somebody sees what I did! ”
      and then if I fall I say, ” at least I have God to help me back up!”
      and when I money in sales I say, ” there’s a reason why. ”
      and when my brother says something to put me down I say,
      “W.W.J.S.”
      which means ( what would Jesus say? )
      I also say it LOUD that way he can hear me!
      and then after all that in a day I say, ” it made me stronger! ”

      Glo, it’s okay. I’m sure there will be another audition someday. And since you can’t go, I’m sure God has a plan for you to do something else. If He had wanted you to go, He would have gotten you there. He must have a different plan for your life right now… and I’m not saying that you’ll never go to an audition again! If God wants you to audition for something, He’ll get you there. Just keep praying, and wait and see what He has in store for your life next!

      About the cell phone… there’s no reason why your life should be in ruins because you don’t have one. ;) I don’t have one either! And even though I REALLY want one, and all my friends have them, I try not to let it get me down. 
      I think cell phones are way overrated… phones USED to be just to talk to people with. There was only one or two in every house. Now these days, you have to carry one with you everywhere to be considered ‘cool’. :-/ Whatever… we can be cool without phones! We can be phone-less together! 

      Ask God to help you with your family situations. Talk to Him, and talk to your family. I live in a kinda big family… and I’ve learned that if I’m feeling angry at someone, it’s better to talk to them about it instead of holding it all in. It really helps. Talk to the people in your family (nicely and calmly). Tell then how you feel. It sounds really basic, I know, but TALK. To them and to God.

      It seems like I’ve been around the world and back with friend problems… I’ve made friends, then lost them forever, then gotten some back, then lost them again. Right now, I have about half as many friends as I had a couple years ago. I don’t really know what to tell you… because I’m STILL struggling with friend issues. One thing I HAVE learned though is this: People may come and go every other day, but God is truly the only one who will always be there. He will never leave you or me!! I just find that amazing, that He’ll never leave me alone no matter what I do or where I go. Find comfort in that, it has helped me so much!

      Ha! I’ve fallen down so many times in my life! The worst one was when I was 12… I was walking in the church sanctuary carrying my baby sister, and wearing my new high heels. (NEVER do that!!) I slipped on the floor, threw Kayla up in the air, then my dress flew up (WAY up…), and when I landed on the hard floor, my foot was twisted really bad. I was so embarrassed because everyone was looking at me, and I had a sore ankle for a few days after that. (Oh Mom caught the flying kid, luckily!)
      And I’m a big klutz. I knock things over for a living! No, just kidding. I am really clumsy though. But when you fall, you just gotta get back up and act like it’s okay! Laugh it off… if you act like it’s no big deal, everyone else probably will too.

    Emily, no matter how depressed you are… do not cut yourself!! The scars will probably last a long time, maybe even forever. They’ll always just be a reminder of your depression! :(
    There’s a better way to fight it… talk to God and read the Bible! Seriously, it helps. I was really depressed for awhile once, I always felt so empty and alone. Then I realized that it was because I had been ignoring God! Without even realizing it, I had stopped reading my Bible, and stopped talking to Him. 
    Now, I’m trying to get back on track with my Bible, and with talking to God. It really helps, after I have a Bible study I feel so much happier and content! Try it and see. :)

      Oh, Tianna! Don’t do it!! When you cut yourself, the scars are there for a long time. Maybe even forever… :( I’ve read people’s stories about cutting, and they say every time you see the scars you’ll remember cutting yourself, and the reason why you did it. Not very pleasant.

      Jesus can heal anyone’s broken heart, no matter how broken it may be. You’re right, He is healing yours! It may take time, but you will feel better eventually. You’ll get over this, and be happy again. Don’t worry. ♥ 
      Don’t hate this guy… that only makes things worse. You’ll feel even madder at him if you keep telling yourself that you hate him! It may take some time for you to feel… well… normal around him! But you should try to love him. (‘love’ as in the kind of love that Christians have towards each other… friend-ly love. Jesus tells us to love one another!)
      And this may be even harder… but you have to love his girlfriend too! Jesus said to ‘love your enemies, pray for those who hate you, and bless those who persecute you.’ 

      I’ll say a prayer for you tonight!! And one right now. :)

    Nicole, we’ll pray for the truth of God’s word to win the argument in the heart of your cousin Noah. Remember, the Holy Spirit is our advocate, our instructor and our guide, He can soften hearts and change minds…not our logic or intellect or skill in arguing a valid point like creation vs. evolution. Many Christians struggle with issues of science and faith, and it’s important to hold your ground without feeling the need to win every argument along the way. God has a way of making His truth known, and your calm and peaceful responses to your cousins assertions on science, may in fact influence him more than a passionate and well intentioned argument. Pray for him to see the Christ in you and want to know more about your faith,… the science stuff will quickly become a non-issue once that occurs. Proud of you for standing up for your beliefs… Blessings and Wisdom to you.

    Ok, can you please pray for this girl in my youth group? I don’t really know her very well, but I’ve been praying for her. 
    Well every week at youth group during the singing, they ask if there is anyone who isn’t a Christian and wants to be one. And they always ask after the service, too. And anyone who comes up, they pray with them so they can be saved. Well this girl, Molly, comes up almost every week. I mean, EVERY week. Last week she came up to be saved during praise & worship, and after the service too! 
    I don’t know if she knows that you only have to be saved once, you don’t have to do it every day. But she always seems like a really sad person, and whenever I’m around her I get depressed, because her personality is so depressing. It rubs off! 
    She gets bullied a lot, for her size. She’s… bigger than some other people, and all the kids at her school make fun of her for it. I think that’s why she’s always depressed.

    I don’t know if she really is a Christian or not… or if she just comes up and prays the same prayer every week without meaning it. 
    I don’t really know her, I’ve only talked to her a couple times before. And that was just a ‘hi, bye!’ sorta thing. I’ve been thinking about talking to her and asking her if she is a Christian or something… but that would be kinda weird, since I don’t even know her. 

    But I think she needs prayer, could you please help me pray for her? I’m not sure what I want to pray for her about… I just feel like I need to pray for her. I guess just that she’ll see that God loves her and that she needs to trust that she is saved. And that she’ll be really happy.

        I was actually thinking about that too… it might be hard for me. You wouldn’t know it by the way I act online (lol) but I am one of the shyest people I know… really. When I started going to a new church, it literally took me months to start talking to people. All the friends I have now, I’m ashamed to admit, are my friends because they walked up to me first. It takes a lot of willpower for me to want to walk up to someone I don’t know.
        I’ve been trying, though… last time I saw her, I said ‘Hi, how are you?’ and she said something back. And after the worship service, she was crying and everything after she went up front. So I just walked up to her and hugged her! She hugged me back and was like, ‘thank you!’ It was really sweet.

    I have another prayer request for my friend, LeRoy. Hes 17 and kinda worldly, you know, like he doesn’t care about being spirituly muture or anything. All he cares about is girls and coffee. He is Jeremy’s brother( Jeremy, as in the guy I needed prayer for before )and LeRoy doesn’t even care that his brother was sent off to a mental innstutution… God Bless

    “Dear ishine,Thank you for the email back. I have a question though… Why do people say God is a myth, I know they dont believe but when you tryto tell them they dont listen. A kid in my class was saying that Gods just another myth, I didnt know what to do so after class I tried to tell him Gods real and alive but he just said whatever. I pray for him and other kids who say that. I forgave him and moved on all I could do was that. How can I let him know Gods not a myth that he died on the cross to save our sins?”

    I can’t think of anything I need prayer for . . .Oh yeah, my little brother has my cold that I had a few days ago, so he missed church. It was fuuny cuz his sunday school teacher is one of my friends, and she was going crazy cuz my brother wasn’t there! I guess my brother is a good student, but he gets picked on a lot. He gets called “teachers pet” and all :(   And I know I’ve said it before, but its always on my mind… I REALLY WANT ISHINE TO COME TO FLORIDA ON THEIR TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please…:)   God Bless

    hi my mum is having a operation on her eyes. 
    i just pray i would have heeling on my eyes cos i have cataract at the age of 11 long sighted and short with a stigmatism I can not get a operation for it :-(

    Please pray for my family. My dad got a job and was in training. He thought he had had this really good day and they call after and let him go. Now he is trying to get a job an insurance adjuster and he may be flying out far away. This job will take him all over the U.S. I am really scared we may have to move or that I won’t see him very much. He says this job will pay so good we can make up for the last 5 years in 2 years and have a new car and the house paid off. Please pray for me! Thanks and GB!!

    i need pray bad am breaking out with a bad rash and my hip down to my toes hurt when i put presser on it my mom took to my doctor and they sent me to the er they took ex-rays and took a some blood from me they don’t know whats wrong they said they think its a viral infection please pray for me

      Well we were without sin, in the beginning… before Adam and Eve sinned. That brought sin onto all of us. 

      I heard this line in a movie once: “If we didn’t sin, we wouldn’t need a Savior.” If God had made us all to be sinless and perfect… we wouldn’t have needed Jesus to come save us. And if Jesus hadn’t come, who would we have to look up to as our role model in life? If we were all perfect, we wouldn’t have needed Jesus. And without Jesus… what kind of world would this be?!

      In my personal opinion, I think that God didn’t make us perfect so that He could send us Jesus. That’s my take on it.

      Well I would tell her that-
      God DOES love you. God is always there… even when you don’t feel like He isn’t. And He always loves us… even if we sometimes feel like He doesn’t. Sometimes what we feel isn’t the same as what is real. You can’t depend on your feelings to know what is real… depend on God instead. 

      I’ve been there, done that. I’ve felt like God wasn’t there. I’ve felt like He was taking people away from me. But you know what? When you feel like He isn’t there, or when you’re angry at Him, talk to Him. Simply talk to Him like you would your best friend. Tell Him why you’re angry, sad, or just plain depressed. And there’s another thing you need to do… listen for Him to talk back to you. Don’t let it be a one-sided conversation. Let Him speak to your heart. Take some time out if the day to pray. 
      When I get done praying, I feel refreshed and usually have a better outlook on life. Telling God everything helps me get through things… He’s usually the only one I have to talk to. God can help me (and everyone else!!) through anything. :) <3

    And Jesus loves you more than you can EVER imagine. He suffered and dies for you… if you had been the only one on earth, Jesus would have died for just you. Think about that. He loves you that much!!

    And we love you! Your family loves you! Your friends love you! YOU ARE LOVED. ♥
