Proverbs 3:6 NLT “Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.”

Proverbs 3:6 is what is called an if/then statement. Here is an example of what I mean… If you pay attention in school, study and do your homework, then you will make good grades in your class. Or how about this one…. If you eat 82 cheeseburgers in a row, then you will get a really, REALLY bad stomach ache! Are you starting to get the idea of it? Great! Ok, so now let’s read this Bible verse again. Ready …. Read!…. Ok, did you read it again? Let’s look at it together now and add the if/then to it! If you seek His will in all you do, then He will show you which path to take. Sounds pretty simple now right?? That is the awesome thing about God! He made it that simple. He wants it to be simple for us. God is ready and willing to show us everything we need to see, lead us anywhere we need to go, help us make decisions, and show us the best way to reach those awesome dreams that God has put in your heart! What is your dream?? Do you know that God created YOU for a special purpose? Do you know that He has given YOU a dream and purpose that is different than anyone else on the planed?? Pretty awesome isn’t it!! Ok, so now maybe you are thinking, YES! I have a dream! YES, I know God has created me special and for a specific purpose, but how will it happen? What do I need to do to make it happen? The answer is simple! Like we talked about earlier we have to seek Gods will in everything we do! That means we have to completely trust God with every single thing in our life. We have to trust that He knows best for us and that he knows the best way to get us there. We have to make sure that the reason we are reaching for our dreams is to bring glory and honor to God, not to make ourselves look or feel good. I promise you that if you’re reaching for your dreams so that you can make God look good to other people and share His love with them, He will make you look and feel better than you ever could on your own!! God is a good God and He loves you so so so much! He promises in His Word to show you and lead you exactly where you need to go. If you will simply trust Him and put Him first in everything. So…. My challenge to you this week is this… Are you willing to trust God and put Him first in every area of your life? If you say yes to this challenge then let me know!!! I would also love to hear about the GREAT dreams that God has given to each one of you!!

    Blessings

Psalm 119:105 “Your Word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light to my path.”

This week I wanted to focus on the importance of God’s Word. This verse is so amazing to me. It says that His Word is a lamp to guide our feet and a light to our path! Imagine this with me….. You are in an unfamiliar place and it is completely pitch black! How would you find your way or see where you are going? Well, if it was me I guess I would walk really slowly with my hands out in front of me, probably knocking things over, stubbing my toe, maybe walking into a wall or door or something, maybe tripping down a step, slipping on something that is wet on the floor, and probably walking around in circles for hours!! Now imagine this… same unfamiliar place and still pitch black.. but this time there is a light right in front of your feet leading you out of the dark room to where you are supposed to go, all you have to do is follow this light. That is how God’s Word is for us. It is the light that is leading and guiding us throughout each and every day to the best and most perfect plan and purpose that we were created for. I love the fact that because it is guiding us, that means it is in front of us. How awesome is it to know that God is not only leading and guiding us, but that He is going before us and out in front of use to clear the way! Wow, God is so awesome! The key to have God lead and guide you is to know what He says! The good news is that we have the Bible that is God’s Word!!! It is our job to read and study God’s Word and it is His job to lead us and guide us by it! Pretty cool the way that works! I want to encourage you this week to set aside a time every single day to spend in God’s Word. Even if you start this week with just 5 minutes a day! Then next week you can try 10 minutes!!! I promise that by studying God’s Word and trusting Him to lead and guide you, you will begin to notice that light guiding each step you take. It is so amazing how much God loves us and how much He wants to be the biggest part of our life and how much He wants to help us…. If we trust Him and let Him!
    Blessings!

John 3:16 NLT “For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Christmas is such an exciting time of the year! There is lots of family time, food, no school, Christmas lists, presents……. So much fun!!! I wanted to talk for a minute about John 3:16 because in this verse it tells us that God gave because He loves us so much. He didn’t just give us a present that was on our Christmas list, He gave us a Savior, a Best Friend when we feel all of our friends have turned there back on us, a Healer when we are sick, a Forgiver of our sins, a Strong Tower for when we are in need, a Joy for when we are sad or hurting, and a Love that will NEVER ever Fail, a Love that will NEVER ever leave us or let us go, a Love that carries us on His shoulders when we feel like giving up, a Love that will be our strength when we have no strength left. He gave us His one and only Son, Jesus, to save us and set us free…. Wow! Imagine how hard it would be to give your very favorite Christmas present away, the one that you have been wanting and asking for all year long…. I would say it would be pretty hard! Wouldn’t you?? Now think of God giving us His one and only Son….. pretty amazing how much God loves us isn’t it? We are so blessed to know about and have the love of Jesus in our hearts, to know that His Love will be with us no matter what. There are so many people, many of your friends, that do not know about God and how much He loves them. My challenge to you this Christmas break is to give the love of God away. Give someone a hug that is hurting, hang out with someone that you know that may not have any friends. Tell them that God loves them. You will be amazed once you start giving God’s love away how much He will use you in huge, HUGE ways.

    Merry Christmas!

Proverbs 12:22 NLT “The Lord detests lying lips, But He delights in those who tell the truth.”

I know we have all heard people say… “It is so much easier if you just tell the truth.” Well as hard as that may seem those people really are right. Have you ever lied to your parents, or teacher, or a friend and then when someone asked you about what you said you can’t remember what you said because it was a lie! That just sounds confusing! Or what about when you lie and then someone finds out the truth and catches you in the lie.. that’s even worse. The verse in Proverbs this week tells us that God delights in those who tell the truth. I don’t know about you but I sure want God to delight in me and how I live. I want to encourage you by saying this, next time you find yourself in a situation that may seem easier to get out of if you lie, think twice about it. You may get out of the situation at that time, but the consequences for that lie will catch up with you eventually. The best thing to do is to tell the truth the first time you are asked! Even if there are consequences you know those people may be disappointed at first by the choice that you made BUT they will know that they can trust you because you are honest, AND even though you may have a made a mistake GOD is delighting in the fact that you chose His way and told the truth. Though it may be hard at first, God’s way really always is the BEST way. He wants the very very best for you and He loves you soooo much!

    Blessings!

Proverbs 13:20 NLT “Walk with the wise and become wise; Associate with fools and get in trouble.”

Let’s talk about friendship for a moment this week…. I know that most of you are in school whether that is elementary, middle or high school right?? Which is why I wanted to talk about this subject. I remember when I was in school friends were one of the most important things to me. I would try to fit in with the coolest people in my grade, dress like they dressed, play the sports that they played; you know all that kind of stuff. The problem with that is sometimes the “cool” group of people in school may not be the “wisest” group of people in school. The world has defined the word “cool” as best dressed, most popular, most friends, most money, best athlete, most talented ext…. But that is not God’s definition of cool. He tells us in Romans 12:2 to not fit in with what the world says is cool! Now don’t hear me wrong on this, I am not saying Christians are not cool or don’t have cool clothes or anything like that, the difference in a “cool Christian” would be their attitude, how they respect their teachers, the language they choose to use, the way they treat the people at school who may not have many friends, and things like that. I want to challenge you this week to take an inventory of your friends or the people you want to be your friends. Are these people friends that will encourage you and pray with you? Or are they people who may encourage you to skip class, be rude to your teachers and parents, and make fun of the other students who don’t have a lot of friends? It is so very important that are close, core group of friends are ones that will build us up and encourage us, not bring us down and get us in trouble with them. I want to point out one more thing here. I am not saying that you cannot be friends with all of these different people, in fact I encourage you to be friendly and show God’s love to them!! Just make sure that you are not trying to fit in with what they are doing when inside you know that it is not the right thing to do. I want to throw one more challenge out to you…. I think that we as Christians should redefine what the world says is “cool”. We should make it cool to stand up for God, to befriend the people who no one else will talk to, to make great grades in school and to show God’s love to each and every person we meet. No matter what the world or our friends says about them! So choose your friends wisely, encourage your friends, pray with them, stand out for Jesus together and I KNOW that you will make a HUGE difference in your schools and in this world!

    Blessings

Ephesians 3:20 NLT “Mary Did Not Know”

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work
within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”

I was reading in Matthew chapter one when I came across verse 22 and it hit me so clear. Matthew 1:22 says “All this took place that it might be fulfilled which the Lord had spoken through the prophets.” This is talking about Mary the “Virgin who shall become pregnant and give birth to a son.” (verse 23). This made me realize that Mary did not know, and neither do we, what God is preparing us for and what He had planned for our lives! I don’t really think that Mary would have ever dreamed or imagined that she would be the one God would choose to give birth to Jesus, the Savior of the world, do you?? This is the most real example to me of our verse this week Ephesians 3:20 “Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” I want to encourage you all today to be preparing yourself daily by the reading your Bible and having a real relationship with Jesus so that when the time comes when God is ready to take you on the next step of your journey you are ready and prepared for Him to use you! You may be going through a time right now where you feel like God is so far away and He is never going to use you…. I want to encourage you by saying that God is ALWAYS preparing us for something. We need to remind ourselves that FAITH MOVES US FROM FEAR TO JOY!! Trust in the Lord. He is right there with you, preparing you and equipping you for the journey He has planned out for you! Mary was the one He chose to give birth to the Savior of the world, Jesus. Imagine what God could be preparing you for!!

Matthew 17:20 NLT ““I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

Prior to these verses the disciples were trying to cast a demon out of a demon possessed boy, but they couldn’t do it. When the boy was brought to Jesus He immediately rebuked the demon and it left the boy. The disciples didn’t understand why they could not do that? Jesus told them it was because of their lack of faith. It doesn’t matter if you speak things even if it is the Word, if you do not have faith and believe what you are speaking then you are putting a cap on what is possible in your life. What may seem impossible to you is possible to God but it is the power of God plus our faith that moves mountains. If you are facing a problem that seems as big and immoveable as a mountain, turn your eyes from the mountain and look to Christ for renewed faith. Only then will you be able to overcome the obstacles that stand in your way. John 14:12 says (Jesus speaking here) “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” Don’t let this world, your obstacle or circumstance tell you what is possible and what is impossible. As a child of God you are in this world but not of it (Jn 15:19). We operate under the Kingdom of Heaven not of this worlds systems. What ever dreams God has planted in your heart; He is and will complete them! (Phil 1:6). I want to encourage you today, if you fill like you have leak in your faith tank, get in the Word, look at all the amazing promises that God has given to us. Stir yourself up in those promises and know that He is going to do more through you than you can ever dream (Eph 3:20) and whatever mountain may get in the way of that, through your faith and the power of God it Will be removed in Jesus name. There is nothing in or of this world that can stop what God has planned for you but you. With God ALL THINGS are possible to those who BELIEVE. (Matt 19:26).

“… in the same way there is joy in Heaven over one lost sinner who repents and turn to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away.”

    Luke 15:7

How awesome is it that we can help start a party in Heaven!! How? By sharing our relationship with God to others. By showing Gods love, by living life with the fruits of the spirit, by being the light of the world and the salt of the earth! By being joyful and stable even in the middle of trials. What we say to people is very important, but the way we live out everyday lives is even more important. If you go to school and everyday you walk around grumpy and mad then at lunch time try to share Jesus with someone, chances are they are not going to be open and receptive to you. Why would they want what you have anyways? They are already grumpy and mad plus they don’t have to live by the “religious rules” Christians do. Honestly, I wouldn’t blame them. We as God’s children need to rise up and live out our relationship with Jesus. Our friends and family that don’t know Jesus want nothing to do with rules and regulations. They want something real and true. That alone is a relationship with Christ. God wants us to do the things we do and live the way we live because we love Him not because someone told us we must do this and we must not do that. I want us to be encouraged today to rise up in Christ and live out our relationship with Him. When people see your stable and joy-filled life they will run to you and ask what you have. Don’t be afraid to share Jesus with them. If your afraid your won’t know what to say all you have to do is say, “I was once lost but now I am found, I was once in bondage but now the love of God has set me free!!!” God will take over from there and fill you with the words to say. We just have to be willing and able to go and open our mouth (Is 51:16). So let’s rise up, be willing, be true, and live out our relationship with God so we can help lead millions to Him and create a party in Heaven that never stops!!

Proverbs 16:3 NLT “Commit your actions to the Lord and your plans will succeed”.

I love this verse because it tells us that IF we commit our plans to God they WILL succeed! How cool is that. Ok, so what are our plans? Our plans are anything we want for our life. Our dreams, our goals, whatever we think we want our future to look like. This verse in the Bible says if we commit those things to God they Will succeed. Ok so what does it mean to commit our plans to God? Commit our plans to God means that we are wanting and desiring those things for our lives to bring glory to God, to share and spread His love and what He has done for us all over the world. Committing our plans to God means that we are working and reaching for these goals not to bring ourselves fame and glory, or to make lots of money, but to Bring God fame and Glory. Take a minute here and ask yourself “Why do I want to do __________ so bad?” Fill in the space with the thing that you desire more than anything. Is it singing, acting, being a mother or father one day, being famous? Whatever it is think on it for a while and find out what the reason is that you want to do that. Psalms 37:4 NLT says “Take delight in the Lord and He will give you your hearts desires.” Here is the cool thing about God. If we really do take delight in Him (love Him, spend time in His Word, praise Him….) He will actually begin to change the desires that you have in your heart to the desires that He has for you! Let me share a quick story! I moved to Nashville Tennessee in 2005 to become a country singer!! Woo hoo!! The reasons behind me wanting to be a country singer were very selfish though. I was trying to please my family, make money, feel secure and so on. (Let me just say that there is nothing wrong with being a country singer if that is what God is leading you to do and He is guiding you and making that happen, as long as you are using that platform to live a Godly life and encourage people that don’t know Jesus.) But the more time I began spending time with God, the more involved I got at my church, the more God began changing my desires! My desire to sing is still there, but my reason to sing is different. My passion and desire now more than anything is to lead God’s children in worship and to help youth girls. It is an amazing AMAZING thing to see happen in yourself when God changes your desires to His. I want to encourage each of you today to seek God more than you ever have before. Give your dreams and desires to God. He knows each and every one of your hearts. He knows what you want, but He also knows what He created you for. So release your dreams to God, spend time getting to know Him and loving on Him more and more. You will be amazed at how God creates His desires in your heart. And when you are pursuing His desires and dreams for your life, your plans Will succeed!

    Blessings!

    Philippines 4:8 NLT

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts
on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and
admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

I really REALLY love this verse! It has helped me so many times! It kinda seems that a lot of the times when something challenging or sad or hard is going on in my life I tend to think or worry about it A LOT! Do you ever do that? I don’t know about you but it never, ever helps me. Normally it just makes whatever is happening worse. That is exactly why God gave us this verse in His Word. He knows that we are going to do that so He is trying to give us some help! This verse requires some action on our part though. The first phrase in it is “Fix your thoughts” that is something that we have to CHOOSE to do. God is not going to force our thoughts to true, and honorable, and right and pure and so on things. We have to choose to do that ourselves. It is amazing when we choose to fix our thoughts on these kinds of things instead of on our problems or whatever is going on in our lives how much peace and joy and comfort God gives us. He is so very faithful to do that every single time.
Another thing this verse is point out is that whatever we think about is going to come out in our actions, words and attitudes throughout the day. We have to make sure the things that we are watching on TV and listening to on the radio are things that are encouraging us! Whatever you are listening to the most is going to grow! That is why is it so very important that you get into God’s Word every day! That is the very BEST way to keep your mind focused on these things! Remember whatever you magnify grows! I want to challenge you this week to magnify God and His Word more than you have in the past! Think about Him and what an amazing plan He has for you!!

    Blessings!

Psalm 55:22 NLT “Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the Godly to slip and fall.”
This is such a wonderful promise that we have from God. This verse does not say that He might take care of us; it says that He WILL take care of us! How cool is that! In order for God to fulfill this promise to us we first have to do our part, which is giving our burdens to Him. A burden is a care or worry that we may have, something that makes your heart sad or heavy. We all have them in our life. It could be a test that is coming up that you are worrying about, a try-out for a sports team or an audition for a play, something going on at home or anything else that you may be worrying about. God tells us to give all of those things to Him. So how do we do that exactly? We do it by prayer and having faith in God. Once we pray about it, we have to believe and trust that God has everything under control! Which He ALWAYS does as long as we let Him do His job! Once you give your cares to Him you may have to keep reminding yourself everyday that God has everything in your life under control! As you keep doing that and reminding yourself of it the easier it will get to trust God with everything and anything in your life! God really wants to take care of all of that stuff in your life. All YOU have to do is let Him!

one important verse is also found in Eccl. 12:1
    New International Version (©1984)
Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”–

    New Living Translation (©2007)

Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.”

it is good that as ishiners we are all here fellowshipping and getting to know God in our youth before it gets too late. It is just p to us not only to pray amongst ourselves but spread the word. because for the lack of knowledge people perish. And Jesus even came down to dine amongst sinners we need to spread the word especially to the youth so that we can move the world forward

Philippians 2:4 NLT “ Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.”
Jesus’ life was all about helping others. He never focused only on His interests and what was best for Him, He always had other people’s needs on His mind too! Our greatest goal in being a Christian should be to become more and more like Christ everyday! This is one of the best ways to do so!! Serving others and putting other peoples needs above our own may not sound like fun at first but I promise you as soon as you start to do this you will be happier than you have ever been!! Serving and doing things for others becomes so much fun once you begin you will WANT to do it everyday!! I want to challenge you all to start off doing one thing for someone else everyday this week! I would love if you would share what you are doing so we can all see how you are sharing God’s love in your worlds everyday and the effect it is having on the people around you!
    Have fun!!

God is so good! Is there really anything more to say than that. God is good, so good. I have been reading around in Isaiah this week and this verse has really stood out and encouraged me. Isaiah 41:13 “For I hold you by your right hand- I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.” How amazing is that verse. When we are walking with God we have nothing to fear. He is holding us by the hand and helping us, that is if we allow Him to. After reading this verse I got a picture of a child in my head who’s parent is trying to hold their hand to keep them safe but yet the child is pulling and tugging and trying to get away because they just do not want to be holding their parents hand! How much is that like you and me at times! God is trying to gently hold our hand and lead us and help us yet we tug and pull and try with all of our own might and strength to do it on our own. I am not sure about you but whenever I try to do anything in my own strength and ability, well… it doesn’t ever work. Ephesians 6:10 tells us to “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” In this scripture “might” means ability. We are to be strong in the Lord and in strength of His ability …. not our own. So I want to encourage you today to stop tugging and pulling away from God and trying to do things in your own ability. God never asked us to that and that is exactly why it never works out. He asks us to follow Him, Trust Him, and to not be afraid. If you are feeling discouraged and ready to give up because everything you have tried to do is not working, I want to encourage you to just rest and trust God. Cling on to His hand, don’t be afraid and let Him lead you. I love the saying “I don’t know what tomorrow holds, but I know who hold my tomorrow.” God is so good. He knows exactly what He is doing. We just have to hold on to Him and let Him lead us and show us, in His timing.
    Blessings!

Hey guys! So it is just about summer time!! So I wanted to give you a little challenge to apply to your relationship with God this summer! The challenge is in Hebrews 11:6 “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.” Fist of all let’s look at the word “Faith.” Faith means a belief in the truth of someone or something. So to have faith in God we must believe in Him and have no doubts that He is who He says He is. The second thing I wanted to share with you all (and pay attention to this part…. it is where the challenge comes in!!) is the words “Come to” in the verse we just read. What does it mean to come to God?? If we go waaaaaaayyyyyy back to the greek translation of this verse, the words “come to” mean: To draw near to God in prayer, sacrifice, worship, and devotion of heart and life. Wow! I don’t know about you but I think that is really really cool! So what is the challenge you may be wondering?? Well I am challenging all of us to really “come to” God this summer! Now that you do not have to rush around in the morning getting ready for school, set apart some time for just you and God. Pray, sing and write some songs from your heart, tell Him how amazing He is to you and how much you love Him! Once you get in the habit of doing this for a couple minutes every morning you will grow to LOVE your morning time with God! I bet you won’t even want to stop when school starts back up!!! If you take this challenge I would love to hear what God is showing you about your life and how awesome your time with Him is!!! Make sure you go to the guestbook and tell us ALL about it!!!
